Dither options in Logic vs. WB

Question

Dither options in Logic vs. WB

Does anyone know why UV22 shows up as a dither option in Logic, but not in Wave Burner? It seems odd that the Logic, the multi-tracking program, has more dithering options than Wave Burner, the mastering program. Just curious. Thanks.

It might be that Apogee licensed it to Apple only for use with LP, so they can't use it in Garage Band or Waveburner. Just a thought.

The Pow-R dither found in Waveburner is seriously good dithering/noise-shaping, no slouch at all, easily on par or perhaps better than UV22(HR).

I've tried both and it very hard to tell the difference, however sometimes it seems that the Pow-R dither might be smoother.

I haven't come to any conclusions though.
